Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month
October 1, 2025 – October 31, 2025 CDT
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, observed in October and sponsored by the Heart Rhythm Society, represents a critical initiative to raise awareness for Sudden Cardiac Arrest and helps the public become more familiar with what it is, how it affects people, and what can be done to help save lives.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month emphasizes that The Heart Rhythm Society’s award-winning “Apples and Oranges” campaign uses a simple analogy to educate people about the difference between a heart attack and Sudden Cardiac Arrest. More than 65 percent of Americans not only underestimate the seriousness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, but also believe Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a type of heart attack. The campaign targets heart attack survivors, who are at the highest risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and stresses the importance of maintaining a healthy heart lifestyle.
