Pink and teal awareness pins represent causes related to both women’s health and sexual violence awareness. Pink and teal represent BRCA gene mutation awareness for those affected by BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations, which significantly increase the risk of breast and ovarian cancer. This color combination is often used in awareness campaigns. Some support groups and campaigns use teal (official color for sexual assault awareness) with pink to soften the message and focus on support for female survivors.
